Anyone have a 1010 Deere crawler loader with gas e

I'd like to communicate with someone that has a Deere 1010 gas engine crawler-loader. I'd like to compare the performance of mine with someone else's. I'm trying to determine is it's not putting out the power it should, or they were all as bad as this one. I was a Deere mechanic for a long time, but I simply don't remember - so I'd like to talk to someone who currently owns or uses one.
John Deere 1010 and 350 loaders were VERY underpowered - that much I remember. 1010 gas engine (115 c.i.) is just about the same size as a 420 two cylinder (113 c.i.), just has four little cylinders insead of two big ones. But, I'm not sure if I ever had the occasion to run one on very steep ground before. I live on the side of a mountain, everywhere I go is steep down, or steep uphill. This 1010 crawler, although the engine runs smooth and sounds perfect, and is not running lean, does not have enough power to climb a steep hill in first gear - just lacks horsepower. It will roll easy, so I can't believe it's mechanical drag. And I don't mean pushing or scooping dirt while going uphill - just driving in first gear with the loader bucket up. Just acts like the engine is too small for the machine it's in.
