: Okay, I just purchased a 59" belly mower for my 47 Cub. It came off of a Cub with fasthitch, (which mine doesn't have), but I was able to bolt it on my Cub by removing my drawbar. Everything hooked up okay, but does it ever work like crap. I can barely get the clutch out with pto engaged without killing my engine. I can't hardly spin this thing. I did get it going and tried mowing with it and it just plain bogs down in any kind of mowable grass when I let it down all the way. I really can't believe that Woods would have made something for this tractor that performs so poorly, so I am leaning towards the possibility that I have something wrong. This deck came off of a Cub and the guy mowed with it for years and sadi it worked fine for him. I helped take it off of his tractor, so I know I put it on right. Does anyone have any idea what might be my problem?? Maybe the belt is too tight or something?? Please help. I am very frustrated with this thing. If I can't get it to work any better than this then it will be for sale again in the near future!! Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the belt could be routed wrong which is causing it to work against itself. Try having the guy you bought it from look at it. Is your engine strong (powerful). Are you using the correct diameter drive pulley. Check these items and let us know it it works. Good luck.
