Welding one up is not at all a good idea and it done it would need to be done right or it is an accident waiting to happen and could kill others to boot. That said it is not all that hard to find a complete rear end and install it, just did one last week. But it can cost you a good bit of $$ to get one at a salvage yard checked that out and the one I found they wanted $350 for it but I did some looking around and got one for swapping one I had. I needed a 3:07 and this guy wanted a 3:42 so we swapped them and every body is happy. Oh by the way are you sure yours is a 12-41?? Because if it is then it is a 3:33 which I have not heard of but who knows. Now if it is a 12-40 that is a 3:42
