For serious farming of large acres, you can't
afford to run a 'garden tiller' or a rotovator
implement. Too slow, too much hp, to much to
break, to much fuel. I guess I come from a
strong farm background. :) However, if your income does not depend on
it, or if you can charge others for your time &
troubles, then it's a terrific implement. Many garden & truck farmers use them, even
on pretty big acrage. So I don't mean to run the
implement down. Sorry if I seem to be doing
so. They do a great job preparing ground for
very fine, very level seeding - which most farm
crops do not need. My dad's Oliver 88 row crop with 600 lbs of
weight did less ground compaction than your
Kubota - much, much bigger tires, less weight
per square inch. (Can't tell if you have front
wheel assist tho, that would help you.) And I
really like Kubota tractors, they are well made,
do what they promise - I'd rather have your
modern versitle Kubota that the narrow front,
no hydraulics no 3point no nothing 88 dad
had. :) Not for plowing, but for anything else... Pulling heavy tillage isn't just hp. You also
need to consider torque, tire footprint size,
tractor weight. People always want to
compare 'any' 42 hp tractor to 'any other' 42 hp
tractor. Just doesn't work that way. --->Paul
