Look what the mailman tried to shove in my mailbox today! lol

I had been wanting it for some surplus rearend parts for quite a few months now.It had ALOT of parts on it I didnt need,so I left it to be "picked".Told my local salvage man I wanted it and to deliver it.(he is a good guy!)Left my phone number and waited.

Driving home I passed the yard and it was gone!!!! I said "oh well" but was dis appointed.

Got home and found it dropped off in my driveway! I havent even paid him yet! (DONT WORRY,paying him tommorow!!!)Good fellow

I wont be keeping all that is here,I just wanted to keep it from the "furnace" and to get what I needed off of it.I also wanted to get anything here to someone who might need it.(NOT trying to make a killing here!!!)Send any emails if you have to have something.

Status of machine: drained about 2 quarts of water out of the rear, rest was grease,NO metal parts!
Drained about 2 cups of water out of oil pan,(expected, exaust was broken, left un covered for a few months)Engine stuck, but I already knew it would be.

#2 and #3 cylinder had water(expected) #1 and #4 bone dry.Filled them with diesel. Blew water out of #2 and #3 and filled with methanol, will clean back out and install penetrating oil tomorrow.

Pulled water drain plug in block, green antifreeze came out, clean looking, dont know the strength.will drain it all out.

Block is newer 281 casting.Nothing looking busted externally.Shifter hits all gears, chassis rolls freely.(I know, doesnt mean much untill you get inside and look!;)

I know this is "long winded" but I am a kid(AT HEART") with a new toy!!!!

Today's Featured Article - Box Plow Blues - by Tom Schwarz. One of the first implements most tractor owners obtain is the box plow. For very little money, this piece of equipment promises to plow and flatten any hill or vale on your ranch road or farm. At least that's what I thought! As simple as a box plow appears, it can be rather challenging to make work correctly. In our sandy soils of Florida, traction is king. You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U ... [Read Article]
