First i want to thank all here for the help so far on my C. you guys are great.
I've located all the part numbers I immediatly need, both from the IH lookup, and now napa crossed.
i also have a good idea of the task ahead witht he pulley and pto shaft seal.
will be getting the big bearing splitter that HF sells.. i think I'll need it vs the smaller kit I already have.. the large one has 5/8 hardware and looks beefier.
I do have a bottle jack and can go that route with a backing plate if needed, but wonder if I should try a large 8" 3 jaw puller ont he bearing splitter?
also.. took another look at the hand crank hole on my pulley hub. unless them threads are hidden in there.. i sure don't see any. hopefully when I hav ethe tin off, bellhousing cribbed up and pedistal off, it will be more apparrent about them threads.
next.. been looking her over. see an inverted head plug front left of the op platform.. is this a common sump fill, or is this machine use a seperate diffy / tranny fill? or is this not a fill for either?
I assume drains on the bottom will be apparrent.
I see what looks like could be a level check plug on the back right about even witht he axle, and over kinda near the pto shaft.. am i close?
found out the knobs on the oil pan are checks.. figured as much there. I see the oil add on the top under the big soda can sized lump cover... drain should be obvious i assume..
on the bottom of the pedistal, I see what looks like could be a drain 'cap'.. but don't see any kind of fill for the steering / front pedistal.
other than a hundred zerks i see.. did i miss anything?
no drop boxes on the axles on this model...
no water pump
located a place to order manuals, and the gaskets and seals and filters..
looks like it's just a matter of time, money, and tools and gumption to tear that front end off.. :)
