I have a 240U with the same 3 point which is modified from the Fast-Hitch. It was a factory option and takes a special short top link which might be hard to find. One drawback on my 3 point is it is not very sensative to adjustments... move the control a little and it won't follow, move it a little more and it may or may not move the arms. When it does move, it will move more than I want.

I notice yours has an alternator, which probably means it's converted to 12v. I just had an issue with mine and had the starter re-built and the field windings changed to 12v. The 6v. starter spun too fast before engaging the ring gear and had the drive and ring gear chewed up. Now it starts so fast it surprises me.

I have an IH-Wagner loader and a Char-Lynn PS. It has a separate crank driven pump for the loader and the PS operates off the tractor hydraulic pump with a priority flow valve feeding the steering. due to the first 2 or 3 GPM going to the steering, when idled down, there isn't enough flow to operate the 3 point... need to be at about 1/3 throttle or more.

The 240 is the next generation of the C-SC-200-230 and the Utility was added in the 240 line-up.

In some ways, a nice little tractor with about 40HP at the motor and 28 DBHP, but with the introduction in 1958, you would think they should have an independant PTO. Most other brands did by then.

I had a 1955 Super 55 Oliver and it was twice the tractor, but thought I could get along without a tractor. After a few years when I went looking for one with a loader, I found this one and being "raised" on Cs and Super Cs, I thought I should have it. Not sorry I bought it, but given a chance for that Oliver with PS and a loader, it would be gone.

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
