Cracked the drain plug and noticed about 1/2 teaspoon of green antifreeze in the oil after the tractor has sat for about 3 weeks. Also, about 8 weeks ago, noticed that the previous owner had removed the center cylinder head nut on the left side of the engine to install a bracket, and only tightened it to about 20ft-lbs. It was this way for MANY years. I tightened it down to about 50ft-lbs, then proceeded to plow for 8 days straight. Engine held together and has good oil pressure (about 45). Last week I noticed a discoloration in the paint below the head gasket under this nut, which looked like a water leak. At that time I torqued down the nut to 110ft-lbs. Is it possible that the antifreeze in the oil is a result of the loose head nut? Should I replace the head gasket. How about Bar's leak stop? Any other suggestions?
