Tractor Vet... Thanks for the reply. I've removed the deck and found excessive play between the ring gear and pinion. Based on your information, I'll check the front and rear pinion bearings next. Looks like this is going to turn into a major project. I'll have to split the tractor between the TA housing and rear end to replace the bearings. The previous owner did not change the rear end oil and most of what came out was water. Luckly, the TA works. Marv
