Is there an adjustment on the pump for the pto on the 706? The new engine is slipping the pto, bout when it gets to 540, should I expect to rebuild the pto, or is it in the pto pump? Has new oil in it, Yes, it is Hytrans. The HP before it gets to 540, is around 85, (bout 600-610 on the dyno) It seems pretty stout for a 263. I did rework the carb, and that helped it a lot, before, the plugs were lean, or white in color, that told me the carb was not giving it enough fuel under a load. So, I eliniated the electric shut off, and installed a manual adjustment screw. Went up 5 jet sizes, it woke up! it went from 75hp, up to 80-81 at 600-610 pto rpm. Then I reset the timing and tried a 540 dyno pull, it started to hit 85, then 86, pto was around 585, then I took it down to 540, pto slipped, so I stopped it immediatly. Engine was overpowering the pto, the dyno was overpowering the pto. Dad was telling me that he had readjusted the pto on his 856 and it helped it alot. So, just wondering what to do in this case,, ChadS
