Is that 225 amps DC or 225 AC and something less on DC? That's a real well built welder and the Onan emgine is a good one but I'm thinking $1,500 may be pressing it as it's 35 years old. But, I haven't researched what they go for. Sad thing is, they ain't built like that no more. Industrial engines: John Deere used the Kohler motor a lot and the Onan industrial in their 318 hydro lawn tractor for years. They built a 322 with a Yanmar 3 cylinder industrial water cooled plant one or two years and then went to Kawajaki. It takes $10,000 or more to get the Yanmar in a JD tractor now. I don't think they use Onan any more. That Onan motor and hydro made their 318 lawn tractors some of the most popular JD ever built. Dang good tractors even if they were green.
