I have a June 11, 1968 Lincoln Electric "Lincwelder 225". This is a 225A DC welder with 50hz 30A 120V AC auxillary power. It is powered by a Onan CCKA twin cylinder gas motor. Oil bath air, rope start (no recoil the old wind up), and it has the optional idle control. Welder starts on one or two pulls, runs great, welds great, paint is ok but faded. I had the heads off due to curiosity and I could find no evidence of wear on the cylinder walls. No shoulders, nothing but the some carbon on the head and piston. Oil gauge indicates 35psi. A guy I know wants to buy it, and I suppose a new welder ($3000-$4000) would be nice-especially the electric start and all the modern features. I could replace this welder with a unit for $1900 although I would be giving up 45 amps at the top end-more auxillary ac power however. Anyone have an idea what I should ask for it?
