IT IS ONLY MY OPINION, but unfortunately the Cub carbs are very prone to failure. They are made of that cast white metal and it does warp. Here's just an idea, the warpage takes place in the top of the carb. Why not resurface it. Take it to a belt sander and let it ride until contact is made everywhere. That will cure the leakage between top and bottom. The balance of leakage can be cured with a needle and seat adjustment. If that fails, an aftermarket carb is available but you won't like it. It'll be a Zenith universal, doesn't fit well and is 200+ American $$. Attack and conquer that thing!
