might sound silly, but if you find the problem with the float and solve it - - I believe there is no way I would pay for another carb. I would first try putting it together, and then I would use some type of gasoline resistant silicone sealer and smooth it around the gasket where the upper and lower bodies meet. Don't forget to put that little venturi section back in before doing that. To test the float, blow in the fuel inlet and slowly turn the carb upside down. Listen for a "clink" which indicates the float has closed on the float valve. You should then not be able to blow into the carb. Now, while blowing, turn it right side up again, and notice you will be able to blow into it again. Repeat until you are reasonably sure the float is free-moving and doesn't hang against the wall of the float chamber. I think it will work. RKS
