If they were heart pills from a pharmacy, they would be in a little plastic prescription bottle or she could produce the bottle with the rest of the pills. I'm sure if you look on the internet or go to a police station, they will be able to show you pictures to compare what you saw or other ways to tell what you found. I wouldn't take it to the police station for fear that some over zealous cop would charge you with possession of an illegal substance. Stranger things have happened. There is a reason they are called "rocks". It's because they resemble rough diamonds. I'd tell your friend to lock up any valuables and don't ever leave his wallet or money out. Addicts will pawn what ever they can get their hands on if they really need a fix. I suppose once it's positively confirmed that it is meth or crack, she might be willing to go to rehab. Maybe she would appreciate having your friends support? If she gets P'od and says she's going to Charlie(Sheen), let her go. LoL
