I think I have to agree with Bob on the psychological impact that ATV's have had on many people, and that is the irresponsible operation of them. Now we use both ATV's and horses up on the ranch. We keep the ATV's on the roads or what used to be roads when were locating cattle or having to move supplies a long way over bad terrain, and use the horses for actually running the cattle out of the canyons and remote or wilderness areas. But invariably we come across places where the people have come out and taken their ATV,s and torn holes in the trails and cut ruts across the meadows and just torn up the natural beauty. There have been a few that I know of that have experimented with how fast they will go when the rancher catches them chasing his cattle and the rancher has a saddle rifle. But I don't think they think it is fast enough. lol But that kind of activity can taint a persons attitude toward riders and operators of such machines. I am in favor of using what ever machine you have to clean, What did you call it? A side walk? I will have to look that up. and I don't understand why the neighbor gets angry about it when your doing him a favor. If it was some kid tearing up the front yard I would have a problem. Has anyone sat down with him in the off season and talked about the concerns over a cup of coffee or a glass of ice tea? I have found the worst time to try to hash something out is when the hair is up on the back of their neck. LarryT
