TPat, Any good JD Dealership worth their Salt should be able to get any and all part needed to fix or rebuild a Power Shift. That tranny was virtually unchanged through the 40 series. As Jim said only 2 real way to damage the trans was to tow with our unhooking the disconnect or run low on oil/ My relatives were at a new Demo of the 30 series tractors. Rep told them the tranny was capable of this....On a 4630, Throttle at Wide open, Trans Shifter in N, bottom of the forward gears.... then shift all the way to 8th,Hi Gear, Use no clutch. The tranny would not be hurt at all. OBTW you had better have the seat belt on or it would jump out from under you!!! My neighbor had his 4430 worked on 2 yrs ago. Not his or the tractor fault....some kids vandalized it. had no problems get it fixed. He used the JD dealer @ Goldthwaite,Texas,,,Lawson Equipment Co. Hope this helps. Later, John A.
