If you're looking for something from the mid 80's to mid 90's I'd rule the New Hollands and John Deere's from that era. NH built them for JD. The reason I say this is because although they had a longer wheelbase, they weren't as heavy duty as a Bobcat, Case, and some other brands. You also sat down in them really low and couldn't see the bucket edge. If you have been generally happy with your 722, you may want to stick with Bobcat as your buckets should interchange if your 722 has the Bobtach quick attach. 743/743B's were the most popular skid steers ever made. Later 7753, 763 and 773 have a longer wheelbase and increased lift capacity. The 753 took over from the 743B around 1993/94. Bigger 843's were also very popular. Early models used a Perkins engine and later models used an Isuzu. 853's replaced them. Another Bobcat machine that's a little different but was popular is an 825. The only thing to be more concerned about with an 825 is that the drive chains use the same reservoir as the rest of the hydraulics. Apparently there is an additional filter though. Parts shouldn't be a problem with Bobcat. Cat didn't come out with skid steers till at least the late 90's.
