You should grease that quill shaft that comes down out of the power steering cylinder VERY REGULARLY!!!! The tie rod mount is on the bottom of it. That shaft is prone to breaking. I replace several each year. You can"t hardly find any good used ones. New they are $465 plus the needle bearings and seals. When you add in the labor of removing the radiator to get to the top to remove the retaining nut. You can have a thousand dollar repair if hired done and five hundred dollars do it your self. Makes a three dollar tube of grease look cheap.
