Nose down a bit, take a needle nose and grab the retainer clip on the chaft, compress it and remove it. Pull the shaft. Clean the other shaft's oil passages, insert and turn the shaft until it fully seats, then install the circlip. The 1000 shaft doesn't always line up easily so you might have to work at it. You do this with the engine shut off. Don't start it or the gears could fall. That's a fail amount of work...
