I have had 5 bake surgeries if I remember right . Several times I have got down to where I could nt get out of the bed , could nt walk or stand up straight and the pain unbearable . I m still in pain 24/7 but I can get up and go and do get my work done but dought anyone would give me a job . I dont know if the pain has lessen or I have got used to it . I guess where I m going is try to do everything you can before you have surgery . They have alot better procedures now than back when I went through it . The big thing is to follow the doctors orders whatever you do . There is alot of us in your shoes , right now my left ankle feels like it is sprain from a pinched nerve in my back and live with this kind of pain at times but did nt follow the doctors orders and thats part of my problem . Hang in there we all hope the best for you . You said you back has bothered you for a long time , I bet you can think of what you did to make it flair up again . We have to stop doing those things and work smarter . Just a observation but I went to a farm action today and you could tell from the way a 1/3 of the people walked and looking for a place to sit down that there back hurt . I d say there s about as many bad backs as there are good ones . Take care of yourself and good luck !!
