'the war of northern agression', as you call it, had southern counties sending regiments north, and northern counties sending regiments south. the south had the first income tax and the first conscription draft. And, of all the people on both sides who were drafted, a full 47% dodged, and of the people who did go, 51% deserted. The point is this, it's getting pretty tough to find someone who is actually descended from a civil war era male who didn't dodge the draft or desert the army. but i do agree with you on what you say about the PRKalifornia
