I've sandblasted three tractors now, and it ain't fun. I'd rather clean out a chicken coop than sand blast. The old leather seals are the ones you need to watch out for. The rubber ones won't be hurt by the sand. But your steering linkage all needs to be disassembled after blasting to get out all the sand. I use silicone around the axle shafts etc. Keeps the sand out... I took an auto paint class, and the instructor says to spray a coat of epoxy primer on it immediately. You work the sheet metal after a thin layer, then go back and reprime before painting after all your work is done. I'm using a 5 horse, 2stage compressor with a 60 gallon tank. At first I was having trouble with the compresser keeping up. I bought a carbide 3/32" nozzle, and it works great with 20/30 silica sand. I get it for $4.25 a 100# bag. The carbide doesn't wear out like the cheap ceramic. The copper slag is too course, and with the small tip, it constantly plugs up.

Another tip is to use wide clear shipping tape over your goggles. They'll last a lot longer. The tape gets clouded up, then just put on new tape. I've used the hood, but it clouds up immediately. You can't see anything...
