poor dog

Mom sent me a text the other day that the neighbor's (and renter's) dog found the electric fence in the cow yard. Trouble is, the dog is deaf and they just don't watch it, they just open the door and let it out.

Being that the farm is on a major highway, we all pretty much know what is an inevitable fate as many of our own dogs have had the same fate of being hit on the road. I'm not sure what the breed is, but it's a pretty big mutt. They got it as a puppy last fall. They never seem to keep an eye on it and this isn't the first time it's been in the cow yard, but this is the first time it touched the fence. Mom said that poor dog was screaming for a good while. Also being spring, the cow yard is thawing out from a winter of manure and snow, which means it is extremely sloppy, and they had to bring the dog inside where it lives.

Another trouble is that they never pick up after it, and that it gets to run around some it ussually goes in my parents and my brother's yard, and they have to pick it up. We've told them straight out the risks of letting it loose and not watching it, but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Not the dog's fault it's owner is an idiot, but unfortunatly it will be the one to suffer when it gets hit on the road.

Bit of a ramble I guess, just frustrated with stupid neighbors.
