In the last 18 months or so we have seen some abnormally wet conditions. This has prevented us from getting the manure spread in a timely manner. So, the ground froze up monday night and we are busy trying to clean things up.

We had four big piles. You can see another in the background. With so little time to do the farming while it has been wet the manure has been on the back burner.

Travis was there to help me all day tuesday. He didnt have any trouble at all figuring out our new to us loader tractor.

I ran the trusty little 4230 and just drove around the field.

With it being as cold as it was some of the loads where steeming quite a bit. It really spread nice.

That is alot of.....stuff.

We didnt come any where close to getting done at the other farm yesterday. Today we worked here at home trying to clean up the lots.

Travis was at his real job today so cliff ran the loader and I spread untill Logan got out of school then I showed him how to run the spreader and I ran the loader.

There's Logan spreading. It was warmer today, near 25. A little snow shower came up about 3 this afternoon and put a nice layer of snow on everything.

And yes, wrigley was along helping today. He was very busy watching everything that was going on. Must have wore him out as he is currently napping!
We have about 3 more full days of hauling if everything goes ok. The endgate was froze shut on the spreader today so I left it open tonight. Everything is building up with the freezing manure in the cold weather but if we can keep the spreader freed up and the manure doesnt get alot of big frozen chunks we will keep going. At least in the middle of winter we dont feel like there is anything else we should be doing.
