Bought a jd A on an online auction that didn't run. Got it home and tore into it and found the left piston skirt broken along with the block skirt. Talked to a guy about welding the block skirt together and sticking a sleeve in the cylinder until I saw an ad on craiglist. I called the guy on CL who told me he had a complete tractor that he was parting out and would sell me the list of parts I needed (block, pistons/rods, etc.) for $200. I asked him what was wrong with the tractor that he was parting out and he said nothing was wrong with it, it was worth more for parts than a complete running tractor! Makes me wonder if I should just part out the one I've got.
