I've been through that crud well over the years. First with the building inspector, next the town chairman, then to the Hwy commissioner right on down. Like was stated, power hungry jerks want to rule the world. I found that in winning against the zoneing required reading their paper back zoning laws, Now I knew when I started to build a much needed garage,I had the slab poured when the zoning commisioner drove down to the house (next to the public boat landing) and I called out for him to stop . He ignored me and drove off. Two days later I got a letter telling me I didn't have a permit(which I didn't )and a visit to his office was mandatory cause there would be a fine imposed.I went and got a copy of the zoning laws and read em. The road grader from the county graded the road, landing clear to the lake. I pointed out that No one can grade, ditch ,drain nor back fill property that affects 10,000 ft of lake shore with out a permit, countersigned by the D.N.R (dam near Russia) well they did it with out a permit. Told em if you push me I'll push back way harder then you pushed me. The cost to me was $10.00 for a permit. They hung themselvs by their own laws. Pays to do the research when denied things that are necessary and creates no danger to your self or others. I could relate several tangles I got into with the above mentioned idiots. Came out fine in the end, Just the agrivation of having to research it all and the time to educate em .Our liberty is dissapearing daily, Gotta fight for whats right. Common sense prevails if the problem gets to some one above the idiots with authority.Just my rant, and I feel for you. Been there, done that. let em know you can't be pushed with out a fight. Makes em think twice. LOU.
