A former co-worker who was into every amway style pyramid scheme that came along tried to get me involved with some sort of device like this. He claimed that it could pick up a dial tone anywhere. I never asked him too many questions about it because I knew that he was always in some sort of scheme or another, but I'm sure it couldn't do all that he said that it could.
