I know they both have a pretty good rep and its only my first round of tractor searching. I looked at the 1086 last night:
-IH 2350 loader on it. -Good tires and chains -Cab -9950 hours -T/A works but pauses when going back to direct -Hydraulic light on sometimes -H/L/R/P shifter is messed up and has been welded. Very difficult to select ranges, hangs in neutral too. -oil weepage around engine, filters and turbo -Starts well no smoke -Owner says it dynos at 160 hp.(!!!!!!!) -Wiring and A/C controls torn open and hanging -Owner asking 8000$ -Couldn't tell if its open or closed centre hydraulics. 3 remotes on it. -I couldn't get the clutch to slip, brakes were ok.
Should I be running away? Owner has only had for 3 months, his dad bought it from a few hours away and only used it once before he died. Was used for snow removal before that.
The shifter bugs me, so does the 160 hp.
What do you think? I don't know a think about tractors this big. I only need 100 hp or so to run my discbine.
