A bit long. Your N-14 Cummins reminds me of debate with shop foreman a few years ago. Drove for a company with approx 900 Volvos with N-14's. Grease at 10,000 mi, drop oil at 20,000. Home shop had sharp pencilled out at $73.00 for complete service. Bought Rotella 15-40 by tanker load. Could have service done at home shop if within 1,000 mi of schedule.
Anyway, was home for a few days off,had 18,900 on, so wrote it up. Forman denied service, said not within 1,000 mi of schedule, even though told him I was headed for Ca.
2,200 mi later I called shop manager from Ca, heading out to Va. he told me to take it to T A Truck Stop, have nationwide contract. $139.00 special plus water filter ended costing twice what service would have been, foreman got strong words from manager about paying double to save dropping oil 100 miles early. If had waited to get back to home shop would have been 7,000 mi over.
By the way, home shop had lab tests done on all oil drops, sent results to Cummins, they okayed procedure for warranty purposes.
