I've used the Super M to pull some 4"ish stumps, but I loop the chain over an old iron wheel. This allows the stump to be lifted up. I like doing my pulling in the spring, the ground is nice and soft so the stump pulls easier, and the tractor breaks traction long before I can flip the machine.
