I have had my little Ferguson TE-20 lift the front end pretty high off the ground -- scary -- while pulling. I keep my foot poised over the clutch. Tyler(WA) posted recently that he hooks his chain low on the stunmp, runs it up and over a round piece of wood(I have tried a section of phone pole) then to the tractor. Like the T-fulcrum, this provides first an upward pull on the roots, then an increasing horizontal component.
