I one time had a bunch of 4 inch pipe and a square post from a service station big sign by the road. The square tubing was 2 pieces of channel that somebody made with a brake that were welded together.I made a cherry picker out of it.It was real strong, but I never was able to find another piece of square tubing to slide inside it so it wasnt adjustable. After I made that I saw one that was made with riding mower tires on it.You could use it out in the driveway in the rocks, just wouldnt go under anything without jacking it up first so those flotation tires would clear.Something like that would maybe work for you, since you are in FFA they might let you make it in the shop, providing they let you use power tools and a welder. If you have a bottle jack you can build it to where you can use your bottle jack for the lift,or they do make jacks just for stuff like that you can get from auto parts stores or Harbor Freight.
