What turn in the weather, appeared to be a wash out in June/July, but the pattern finally changed in early August to what we had last year, long periods of sunny and dry weather.
If you were able to get the 1st cut off the field, regardless of the quality, that 2nd cut around here was beautiful and the weather was in your favor, I helped the neighbor put up quite a bit of 2nd cut round bales, really impressive quality. The only problem was that with so much hay to still get in and make use of the weather, was that sileage operations were starting up, so that becomes a conflict, always something.
Looks like the dry weather is here for the week, though it's cooled off a bit, hopefully the extra time with dry weather will help dry the hay enough to bale. ALso ought to help with the grain moisture on the corn if it continues and finally those fields will have dried out, we were making ruts and tearing up turf in early august, had to use care when loading the bales, and where you drove the equipment.
