We used to have a 1949 8N that was a one owner tractor from the government. It was used on the grounds at the legislature. The last 10 years it was there, all it did was pull a fertilizer spreader. We bought it 1978 but traded it, unfortunately, because we needed a little more power and a live PTO to run a flail mower. We got a UK MF 135 diesel instead. Still have that and will probably never sell it. That was in about 1980 and only after coming on here a couple years ago did I find out what year it is. It's an early 1965 with muti-power. The first year they were sold in the UK. I found a really good used loader to put on it and also a cab off of an MF 20 industrial. One of these days I have to make some new floor boards for it. The UK floor boards are about 3 inches lower than the US models. I had to alter my 3 pt. a bit to so it wouldn't hit the cab. The 20's must be a little different as well. My neighbor's got a whole mess of old tractors lying around. Sadly most of them aren't running. Mostly Farmall. He still uses an 806 and a 706. One of stripped tractors I saw was an SM, I think. I have 94 Thomas skid steer and an 86 Cat 931B loader with a backhoe. Dave
