Hi folks, I have a '90 F250 5.8 liter. My problem is that the starter just spins free mostly. It may catch on the 3rd or 103rd try. just like a bald spot on the ring gear, but not the case. This is a rebuilt bosch starter that looks like the box on top is new. If I do a jumper cable test with the starter laying on the ground, it works every time. Could it be that I'm not getting enough power to the starter, or I just got a Friday afternoon (or Monday morning) rebuild. As I try, usually right before the time it engages, I get a clunk. Usually hits the next time. Any ideas?
