I've wondered about this for a few years, maybe someone here can help out. As I watch the NFL football games on TV, I've noticed that on all team helmets, there is a piece of duct tape about 1" square that covers something up on the Riddell helmets. The spot is the same for all teams, at the back of the helmet about 2" above the rear bottom edge about 3" to the right side of center. I first thought it was a piece of tape to make the chinstrap snap tighter but it's not in that location. It's almost like they are covering up some sort of logo or symbol of some type. It's on ALL helments from ALL teams. I hope it doesn't say "Made in China". Now that would be a tragedy. Anyone out there notice that ever? Can anyone shed some light on what is being covered up?
