They're all good, but you can put more hours on a 4 cycle. The 2 cycles aren't designed for extended point-to-point driving, and I've burned up quite a few motors in two of them.
If you're buying a cart for tractor shows, get a 4 passenger model. You'll need it.
For around home, bolt on a receiver hitch and you'll double the unit's utility. A cart will easily tow a ton on a flat surface, and hitch weight isn't as big an issue as with an ATV. I think a trailer hitch you can see easily from the driver's seat makes more sense than a clumsy box hanging off the back.
Best buy in a cart? A 3 year-old, any brand, for around half the new price. It should be good for a lot of years of service.
BTW: At a plowing match in our neighbourhood this fall the organizers cited liability issues and banned golf carts, ATVs and horses from the site proper, though the motor pool had a couple of dozen carts and ATVs used as taxis by volunteers. Be sure to get a handicapped sticker for the front of your cart and talk nice to the people on the gate.
