Thanks for the pictures. I think that everyone on this forum really appreciates the pictures of Wales.

Please allow me to ask a question that is purely a result of my ignorance. I have no ulterior motive in asking. Do you have complete freedom concerning private ownership of property in Wales? Are there any governmental restrictions on buying and selling real estate?

Agin, I'm not trying to make any kind of point here, I'm just asking out of my ignorance. I've visited the UK once and Ireland once, and I kind of got the impression that land ownership and transfers were tightly regulated by the various governments, but I might be completely wrong about that.

Thanks again for the pictures. Wales is truly a beautiful country.

We do have complete freedom over buying & selling land in England & Wales, though things are a bit different up in Scotland. They have a quasi communist law intended to limit the excesses of absentee landlords. To be fair they have suffered up there in the past from foreign (i.e. non Scots) landlords owning huge tracts of land & doing nothing for the tenant farmers at all. Now with an urban-based socialist government, they have as usual gone completely the other way.

We all have HUGE interference from government in our affairs both from the national government, our regional governments & most of all from the European government. The sooner we get out of Europe the better it will be- thirty years of unmitigated disaster for the UK.

Wales & the rest of UK has a variety of scenery within a few miles which takes some believing for those from such a huge country as USA.

Within 100miles you can pass huge arable farms with 200 acre fields, dairy farms mostly pasture, stock rearing farms, mountain grazing, cliffs & sea scenery. Even though we are very densely populated ( UK has 246 per sq KM whereas USA has 31 & Canada 3.2!), there is still a lot of wild country left, especially on the western side in Wales & Scotland.

I just wish we had colder winters again like when I was a kid, but last 20 years they've all been mild & wet.

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
