If you are having a problem with the cam and can not find a new one from Case I H and no GOOD used ones to be found , Then here is some food for thought , Sometimes if ya can find a good machine shop they can weld up the cam and regrind itOr one can start callen Cam companys and they may be able to regrind it back to spec.'s . Also you will need to either have the lifters either reground or replaced with new or it will wipe out the cam in short order .Myself i have never worked on a 284 and do not clam to be the guru on that I H tractor . When i was working on tractors everyday When i did a total rebuild i had the cams either rebuilt or replaced if they were woren . Then i would start looking into WHY it went bad . To soft lobes . wrong oil used valve set not with in spec.'s to stiff springs ????
