One deal that got away was a Continental engine on a stand that used to be an emergency water pump in a paper mill. Coulda had it for less than $200 if I remember right. Not rusted tight or anything. I was about to finally make a move on it and then it finally sold after sitting at the end of the neighbor's driveway all winter. I think the new owner was putting it on a saw mill.
I've gotten a few things fairly reasonable at auctions. Got a Kools blower for $35, and a small gravity box on a Colby running gear for $105.
I also got the ROPS for my 1855 for $300, the fender tanks for the cost to make 4 pair of 3 pt. balls for the olivers, and 3 front weight slabs for $35/each.
For tools, I got a loaded Kennedy 7 drawer top for $150 an ex coworker bought for me at a rummage sale. The box alone was worth that if it were new.
