Animal said: (quoted from post at 18:13:44 10/29/07) I am just about to make the plunge, I have about had it with these convertables in the 100 plus degree heat! With the cost of parts I am thinking new is probably the way to go. What I would like to know from you guys, is the pros and cons on the newer tractors, for instance PTO clutches is the electric system better than manual, how do they stand up after years on a baler, and things like that. I am only going to do it once and I want it to be right. I will be looking at 90 to 100 H.P. thank you guys your opinions mean alot to me!
Was in your same boat a year ago, ended up with a Kubota M105X and now it is called a M108X due to emissions, but same tractor. I had a Kubota loader put on it and use it on the farm for moving large round bales, hauling manure, cultivating corn with a 8 row wide cultivator, spraying, etc. Have 200 hrs. on it now and not a single hitch with it. I am 6'4" and it could use a bit more head room in the cab. I like the turning radius and the multi speed turning in the winter when pushing snow. Lots of spunk for the 230 cubic inch engine, has turbo, intercooled, and 4 valves per hole. Lots of good tractors out there in this size, but remember, most all tractors in this size are built someplace else but in the US.
