I am just about to make the plunge, I have about had it with these convertables in the 100 plus degree heat! With the cost of parts I am thinking new is probably the way to go. What I would like to know from you guys, is the pros and cons on the newer tractors, for instance PTO clutches is the electric system better than manual, how do they stand up after years on a baler, and things like that. I am only going to do it once and I want it to be right. I will be looking at 90 to 100 H.P. thank you guys your opinions mean alot to me!

I think it depends on what you plan on doing with the tractor and what dealer support you have close at hand.
I think that Kubota's are great tractors in terms of product quality... but you can't take a chassis equivelant to what Ford called a 50 hp tractor 15 years ago, slap 34" wheels on it and a 5 cylinder turbo engine in front and call it something equivelant to a 6XX0 series Deere or the new 6000 series NH platform. There's a pile of cast iron in the difference and I don't mean wheel weights.
The orange thang is great for utility work where a light tractor will suffice and you just need power for PTO work or dividing that power between the PTO and drawbar.... but I'm fairly sure that if you funnel all that power through the wheels you will see problems in time, and mabey not a long time. I'm not knocking the tractor, but it has a purpose. Deere and NH both build light tractors in or near that range, and they also build heavy tractors in that range.... so there are different tractors for different needs.
Consider you needs.

Support will be your next concern. It's not good to buy from a dealer 200 miles away and then need service. That's an expensive field call or an expensive float bill. Your pick. I don't think that any of them are so reliable that they don't need those calls either, but Kubota is probably better than most in that regard.

Personally I prefer to stay with the older stuff and do my own repairs. Both ways cost; this is just my preference. Don't think I could function waiting for a dealer to show up to work on a lot of the problems I have....

I too would recomend Kubota. I have had four of them and the have all been 100% trouble free. Just sold one to my neighbor that was ten years old that still had the original battery on it even. I just got a new M7040 which is smaller than what you are looking at but it is a heck of a machine. I use mine to run a 9' haybine, rake, ted, run a 4x6 round baler, a square baler, and trim pastures with a 15' brush hog. Here is a pic..... ..... ..... ..... .

Was in your same boat a year ago, ended up with a Kubota M105X and now it is called a M108X due to emissions, but same tractor. I had a Kubota loader put on it and use it on the farm for moving large round bales, hauling manure, cultivating corn with a 8 row wide cultivator, spraying, etc. Have 200 hrs. on it now and not a single hitch with it. I am 6'4" and it could use a bit more head room in the cab. I like the turning radius and the multi speed turning in the winter when pushing snow. Lots of spunk for the 230 cubic inch engine, has turbo, intercooled, and 4 valves per hole. Lots of good tractors out there in this size, but remember, most all tractors in this size are built someplace else but in the US.

If I was doing it and I wish I was (buying a new tractor) in the size you are talking, I"d be buying a MF 6465.

I bought green 2 years ago and wish I had of looked at Mahindra. They're nothing but an Indian built IH, slightly modernized in the sheet metal. Sound engineering throughout and built heavy like they used to be here.

I would seriously look at the Kubota M series. I had a compact utility, the L series, the most dependable tractor I've ever been around. Easy on fuel. Lots of power. Driver comfort galore! Mine was 32hp, power shift, shuttle F&R, front wheel assist. Awesome tractor. Wish I still had it.
