First thing you need to do is get estimates so you can get the best price. A lot of high charges out there but discounts are available if they know you are shopping around. It is hard for a beginner to do it online because you do not know the shipping class it falls under.

Then look for companies that service your area. They may be 2 towns over and 50 miles away but still service your area. Some of the bigger nation wide companies are Roadway; Yellow: UPS (which has now bought out Overnight so they do packages and LTL now); Fedex (who bought out Watkins and American freight so they do both) Estes; ABF; Old Dominion; ect............

Now you will need to know weight; size; and both zip codes. 125 lbs can go as a loose piece and does not really need a pallet. Try to stay away from residential delivery and pickup even if it means you picking up the box at their terminal dock because this adds to the cost

After you decide on a carrier you just tell them to pick it up for you and give them the info. The driver will have a manifest with him that can be hand written on pickup if the shipper does not have any.
