Andy, according to what I have been told there is a possiablity that all of these could be the same person, or not.

Due to someone on the Farmall board claiming that a friend's post had the same IP address as someone else that was staring crap, I went and talked to my ISP guy about this issue. I even logged onto his store computer, and showed him what I was talking about.

He just laughed out loud, and asked if I ever posted on this site? I said sure I do, not everyday as some but I do answer or get into a conversation sometimes. He replyed, "go ahead answer someone's question and I will show you something about an IP address".

I answered a persons question on this site, and then my ISP guy wrote down the IP address from my answer posted from his store.

He then asked me if I knew if John Doe, Jane Doe, etc. posted on this site as well, as they were some of his customers that he knew had old tractors. I told him of one that I knew for sure posted on this site. He looked up a post made by that person and wrote down the IP address.

He then looked up one of my post made from my home and wrote down that IP address as well.

When he showed me the paper all three had the same IP address on them. I told him that I did not belive this. So he went back to all of the answers and I wrote the numbers down myself. He asked me if his numbers matched mine, and they all three did match.

So I asked him how or why this could be?

His reply was, "All three of us are using the same server when we reply. The ISP server does not provide an actual computer's address. In order to find out where the replys came from most ISP can filter or use a tracking method that can find out who's computer made them if they needed to".

I am not a computer wiz in any way, heck my 6 year old knows more about them than I do.

I don't know, if all of these are the replys are from the same person or not. I am only relaying what I was told.

For the person that started this I can only say, "Everyone at this site has always been very helpful to me, and a lot of others as well. Yea sometimes someone will come along and try to stirr the pot or whatever". Take this for what it' worth, "Treat people as you like to be treated, and they usually will treat you in the same manner"!

Once again, "Thanks to everyone at this great site, keep up the good work"!!!
