Place a large socket between the finger on the ujoint and the Axle tube. start the truck and gently rock the steering wheel so that the ujoint finger pushes against the socket and axle tube. The bearing carrier will push out of its mount. MUCH EASIER THAN BEATING WITH HAMMER LIKE MY DEALER DID AND THE CHILTONS SAYS TO DO. I got this method from a dealer mechanic and I've used it with great results. REMEMBER NOT TO STEP ON THE BRAKES WHEN YOU START THE TRUCK.
