RE Yuppies

Reading the posts below about pricing made me laugh. I just realized I am one of the yuppies you all laugh at/about. I have 5 acres and a JD 520. Before that I paid the farmer next door $25/hour to mow my field. I never thought I was a yuppie, but you all got me thinkin. You shouldn't bash us too bad though as I believe we (yuppies) are the future of the old tractors. Sure there a bunch of you damn horders that have 200 old tractors lined up for restore someday, and you probably think you are the king of old tractors, but as for people who are getting to know and love these old tractors us yuppies are a growing population. I see more yuppies than farmers actually using these tractors. Most of the farmers around me run such big tractors they don't even do any of the repairs themselves. They either don't have time or don't have the EQ to handle it. When I have a problem, I stop by my neighbors and he tells me the name of a company that will come out and fix your problem. Then I post a stupid question or two on here and struggle thru the ordeal on my own. When I first got my tractor and started taming my land I would often have old timers stop in and say how good it was to hear a two cylinder throttle up in the distance. These are guys that know and love the old tractors but don't have time for a peice of EQ so small.
