I've working on a deal for a couple of old tractors - and part of it comes to this: Me taking a late 50s FWD truck as part of the deal if I want to buy the other two tractors. I'm figuring - if I can get at least $500 back out of truck, I'm making out well - and would be getting one of the old tractors - virtually - for free. I'm not a big-truck collector and don't really have any interest in keeping, or fixing the truck. It's a late 50s vintage FWD, got a 29,000 lb. GVW rating. It has very low miles and no rust - it was a fire-department water-tanker for remote off-road fires. The tank was removed - so there is nothing mounted on the rear now. It has a six-cylinder International Harvester engine, five-speed trans, a huge transfer-case, etc. Has a lever on the dash that operates some sort of differential locks. Also appears to have AC 120 volt power - made from a large Leece-Neville generator. Wheels are 20" split-rims - duals on back. I know the engine ran fine when first parked a few years ago. Anybody got any experience as to what this type of truck is worth? Are there FWD collectors?
