Posted by Mike in MI on March 17, 2007 at 19:03:28 from (74.36.237.199):

I visited an old friend today that I haven’t seen in years. I could see welding flashes as I was walking toward his workshop. I kind of stood back while he was welding.
He looked up and seen me standing there and said hey you’re the guy I wanted to see. He said you’re a good welder could I get you to weld the sheet metal on his Oliver fenders.
I told him that I couldn’t weld anymore and explained why I couldn’t do this.

In the meantime there was another guy that stopped in to see him also. We got to talking about my Defibrillator that I had implanted a few years back. He was telling me welding shouldn’t affect this device at all.
I know when I had this put in back in 2002 they told me to stay away from any high generated electrical fields, cell phones, batteries, ac generators.

I think I got my friend other friend a little mad at me when I told him that I wasn’t know way going to try it. He said his neighbor had one put in years ago and he still welds. I just found out last fall when I had my check up on this ICD what the battery cost for this. Well it was a good thing I was sitting down when she told me. Around $36.000
Mine was checking just below half yet if you read it like a fuel gauge.

Well to me he had nothing to lose buy say that but I"d rather be safe than sorry! I love doing welding before this all came about. (I still miss it today)
Just wanted to see if anyone out there on YT forums had an ICD Implant that has tried to weld or is welding? Maybe this guy is right and I shouldn"t of said anything.Take Care
Thanks Mike
