Well, geting pretty close to planting season, couple months, and I am wondering what some of you guys suggest for min tillage. I did apply 5 acres of chicken manure so I guess I will disc that heavy to incorperate and mix good with the soil so I dont burn my sweet corn. But the remainder of the 25 feild will be feild corn, some oats, and possible some soybeans. It was no tilled beans by the renter last spring. Didnt seem to have good germination. I want to conserve residue as much as possible , but feel the soil could use a little softening up. Corn will be planted with a 456 IH planter this year, dont know if that would even work if I did try no till with it. I am thinking feild cultivator 4-5" deep, or disc it. Any recommendations or othe neat lettle tillage tools out there for smaller scale plots/ tractors?
